Level 2 Award in Door Supervision

This qualification is intended for anyone in the UK who wants to work as a door supervisor.
All door supervisors must hold a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to practise under the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
The Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry is a qualification recognised nationally and endorsed by the SIA and regulated by Ofqual.
Successful completion of this course allows a door supervisor to satisfy one of the requirements for applying for a licence.
Who is the course for?
This qualification is intended for individuals who wish to apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence to work as a door supervisor. It is supported by SIA, the standards body for the security industry, and SIA that regulates the private security industry, and is based on the relevant SIA learning and qualification requirements.
Course Entry Requirements
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 2 Award in Door Supervision
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 33 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 45 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer
- Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance).
- Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training (RQF)
- Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training
To receive the Level 2 award in door supervision, learners must obtain a minimum of 5 credits:

The Learner will:
- Know the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry.
- Understand legislation as it applies to the individual in carrying out a licensable activity.
- Understand the importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements.
- Understand fire procedures in the workplace.
- Understand emergencies and the importance of emergency procedures
- Understand the importance of communication skills and customer care
