Level 2 Award in Upskilling Door Supervision

The objective of the Level 2 Award for Upskilling Door Supervisors is to provide additional skills and knowledge to Door Supervisors who have previously completed a Door Supervision qualification.
It is a requirement of the SIA (Security Industry Authority) that any Door Supervisor wishing to renew his / her licence must have completed an Award to Upskilling Door Supervisors if he / she has not received training in Door Supervision within his / her previous qualification.
Who is the course for?
If you have to renew your Door Supervisor (DS) and have completed your training before the summer of 2010, we recommend you to attend this training as soon as possible and renew your Door Supervisor Licence.
Course Entry Requirements
- All Learner must have SIA licence to enrol this qualification
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 2 Award in Upskilling Door Supervision
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 13 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 18 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer
- Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training
- Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training
To receive the Level 2 award in upskilling door supervision. Learner must obtain a minimum of 3 credits:

The Learner will:
- Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use
- Understand how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used
- Be able to use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
- Be able to use non-pain related standing, holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills
- Understand good practice to follow after physical interventions
