Preparation course for the A2 Secure English Language Test (SELT)

This course is designed for lower intermediate learners who have basic knowledge in English language. It will allow that beyond the basic level. The learner will continue to learn new vocabulary and acquire grammar skills to help communicate in various everyday situations. The learner also learns to communicate in simple sentences by using present and future tenses.

This course is designed for lower intermediate or elementary learners who have basic knowledge in English language. Anyone can join the course.

How is the Course Assessed?

The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.

Course Progression

Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:

  • Preparation course for the B1 Secure English Language Test (SELT)

The learner

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.

The learner:

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.
