Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

This qualification is specifically intended for individuals who wish to act on their workplace as a first aider. Successful candidates learn to manage a range of injuries and diseases that could happen at work and have the necessary skills to provide first-aid emergencies. Moreover, as regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees without taking long-standing due-diligence checks in the recent HSE changes and be sure they have fulfilled their legal obligations to provide quality first aid training.
The learners will develop skills and expertise to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: incident assessment, non-responsive victims, CPR, cardiac attacks, head and spinal injury, fractures, anaphylaxis, etc.

Who is the course for?

The EFAW qualification is ideal for people who are already working or are prepared to work in a low - risk environments such as offices, companies, retail, education, sports and entertainment.

Course Entry Requirements

  • There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
  • Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
  • A basic English level may be required for this programme

Duration

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

  • Guided Learning Hours (GLH):   6 hours
  • Total Qualification Time (TQT):   7 hours

How is the Course Assessed?

The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.

Course Progression

Once the course is successfully completed, the course may be used aid career progression in a relevant profession or candidate may progress into other qualifications:

  • Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
  • Level 3 Award in First Aid Response
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

To receive the Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work (EFAW), learners must obtain a minimum of 1 credit:
