Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety at Work provides learners with basic knowledge to keep themselves and others around them safe in the workplace, covering important skills such as the use of protective equipment, accident management and risk management.
This qualification is intended for those requiring a better understanding of workplace health and safety. It is important to make the employee safe, secure and able to identify potential hazards for themselves.
Who is the course for?
It is intended for candidates who are already at work and those who are preparing to start or return to work. The Level 2 Workplace Health and Safety Award is ideal for organisations wishing to adopt a standard approach to training their health and safety staff to ensure that employees, work placement students or apprentices meet the basic legislative requirements regarding appropriate precautions.
Course Entry Requirements
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 2 Award in Fire Safety for Fire Marshalls
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 6 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 10 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
- Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment
- Level 3 Award in Health and Safety within the Workplace
To receive the Level 2 award in health and safety in the workplace, learners must obtain a minimum of 1 credit:
