Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practice of Assessment
The qualifications have been designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to develop good assessment practices in all kinds of learning situations. The qualifications have been specifically developed to enable people to access the type of learning that is appropriate and relevant to their level of participation in assessment and the type of learning being assessor
Who is the course for?
To attain this award you should be as an assessor at the beginning of your journey or need to know about assessment practise but are not currently practising. This is an ideal qualification if you're an aspiring assessor or a manager, HR or quality assurance personnel looking for a qualification for professional development. This award allows anyone interested in or who is not a practitioner to gain information and knowledge about assessments and quality assurance.
Course Entry Requirements
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 3 Award in understanding the principles and practice of Assessments
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 24 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 30 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training
To receive the Level 3 Award in understanding the principles and practice of Assessments, learners must obtain a minimum of 3 credits:
