Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
The Level 3 Health and Safety Award in the workplace supervisors will help to equip supervisors and those wishing to gain the necessary knowledge of their health and safety skills to fulfil their safety and health roles at work.
Learners will cover various topics such as: understanding requirements for health, safety and health at work, legal requirements, the benefits of a health and safety system, and an understanding of risk and methods of control for common hazards at a workplace.
Who is the course for?
This Level 3 Workplace Health and Safety course is appropriate for employers, managers and/or supervisors responsible for ensuring high safety and health standards in the workplace. This includes those responsible for trainings, the maintenance of standards and the implementation of a positive health and safety culture at work.
The purpose of this Level 3 Health and Safety training course is to provide employers, managers and supervisors with a thorough understanding of the various health and safety aspects at work.
Course Entry Requirements
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 21 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 30 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment (RQF)
- Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)
To receive the Level 3 award in health and safety in the workplace, learners must obtain a minimum of 3 credits:
