Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care

The Level 2 in health and social care provides the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes that are crucial for successful workplace performance. Learners will cover a variety of subjects related to the setting of health and social care. The topics covered include: environment of health and social care, risk assessments, importance of personal hygiene and more.

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for anyone considering a career in health and/or social care with adults or early years and childcare sectors.

Course Entry Requirements

  • Level 1 in health and social care
  • Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
  • A basic English level may be required for this programme

Duration

Level 2 Certificate in health and social care

  • Guided Learning Hours (GLH):   180 hours
  • Total Qualification Time (TQT):   210 hours

How is the Course Assessed?

The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes. To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully. The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.

Course Progression

Once the course is successfully completed, The candidates may progress to Level 3 vocationally related qualification or there is also the opportunity to enter employment within the Health and Social Care sector

 

To receive the level 2 certificate in health and social care, learners must obtain a minimum of 23 credits:
