Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care

The Level 3 in Health and Social Care is a nationally recognised qualification designed to provide a study programme related to a highly specialised work. The Level 3 programme provides you with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare for employment in the health and social care sector
Who is the course for?
This qualification provides an excellent platform for those students who work in care environments or in their own homes for service users. Level 3 is a possible route for students moving into supervision or management roles.

- Domiciliary Care Worker

Course Entry Requirements
- Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social care
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 400 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 600 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes. To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully. The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 4 Certificate in Health and Social Care
- Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care
To receive the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, learners must obtain a minimum of 60 credits:

The Learner will:
- Understand the main roles and responsibilities of health and social care workers when delivering care.
- Understand the roles of regulatory and professional bodies in relation to the delivery of high-quality care
- Evaluate the role and responsibilities of the inter-professional team in delivering health and social care.
