Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care

The Qualification was designed to develop and reward today's business and social workers and to continue to give the health care and social care sector recognition and professionalism. The purpose of the programmes is to provide students with a career path for developing their health and social care capability in the sector.
Who is the course for?
The Level 4 in Health and Social Care is specifically designed for supervisors or experience candidates in Health and Social care.
Course Entry Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 534 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 700 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes. To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully. The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.

Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Level 5 Certificate in Health and Social Care
- Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care
To receive the Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care, learners must obtain a minimum of 120 credits:

The learner:
- Analysing, synthesising and summarising information critically
- The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding the ability to think independently and solve problems
- Applying subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
- Recognising the moral and ethical issues of health and social care practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.
- An appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of health and social care service provision
- Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, assemble arguments in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.
- To develop transferable skills and knowledge.
- Circumstances, whether within their own area of employment, or through promotion to a supervisory or management position, or to adapt to changes in the health/social care environment
- To motivate individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or as part of their chosen career.
