Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations Public Space Surveillance
This qualification is intended for those students who would like to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA). This qualification is based on the respective SIA specifications for learning and qualifications and is supported by the security skills. A successful qualification will enable candidates to apply for a licence to practise to work with the CCTV (Public Space surveillance) industry

This qualification suitable for anyone who wants to work as a CCTV operator.
Course Entry Requirements
- Learner must be 19 years or older at the beginning of the course
- A basic English level may be required for this programme
Duration
Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations Public Space Surveillance
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 23 hours
- Total Qualification Time (TQT): 32 hours
How is the Course Assessed?
The Center assesses all units within this qualification internally. Qualifications are referenced criterion, based on achieving all of the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a 'pass' for a unit, learners must provide evidence to show that they have met all of the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all of the evaluation criteria. The Assessor makes a judgement that the learners have met the assessment criteria successfully.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the overall achievement of the judgement of the learners has been achieved.
Course Progression
Once the course is successfully completed, The Candidates may progress to:
- Working within the Private Security Industry
- Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry
To receive the Level 2 award in CCTV operations public space surveillance, learners must obtain a minimum of 3 credits:

The Learner will:
- Know the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry
- Understand legislation as it applies to the individual in carrying out a licensable activity
- Understand the importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements
- Understand fire procedures in the workplace
- Understand emergencies and the importance of emergency procedures
- Understand the importance of communication skills and customer care
